Sterling Fire & Associates Inc.
Secretary/Treasurer – Kathleen Nicholas, Sterling Fire & Associates Inc. (Victoria)
Kathleen Nicholas (she/her) has lived on Vancouver Island for 50 years, but still feels the occasional draw to visit Saskatchewan, where she was born. A graduate of Mount Douglas Sr. Sec., she has taken the “road less travelled” and become an unabashed bonvivant.
She joined her husband, Don, in creating Sterling Fire back in 1997 and has helped it evolve along the way – from a ULC-listed service and verification provider; to a fire alarm upgrade contractor, with over 100 buildings completed in Greater Victoria; to its current iteration, where they serve as the Owners’ representative, system designer, and project administrator for fire alarm upgrades.
She was presented with the Grant Holtom Academic Achievement Award for her hard work on completing the Business Administration Fast Track program at the University of Victoria in 2011, where she aced 12 full university courses in 13 weeks.
Kathleen is passionate about Codes, laws, & caselaw; often disappearing like Alice-down-the-hole while researching diverse and divergent topics from the fire industry to physics. She has served on the Boards of several non-profit organizations, is an ally of the underdog & LGBTQI2/BIPOC communities, is a bonafide Reverend able to perform marriages in B.C., and crochets like a mad thing.
